About us

The club has members who are active in various aspects of R/C aero modeling including glow/gas and electric powered models, sailplanes, helicopters, quadcopters & drones. While some of the Club members compete in a variety of events from local to international contests, most of us are just sport flyers enjoying building and flying our planes. Many of the Club members donate their time, effort, and money to improve the field and to provide instruction and help to beginning flyers.

The club’s flying field is located on City of Boulder property at the Boulder Reservoir. All costs and efforts to operate and maintain the facility are performed and paid for by the Club. The field consists of two paved runways, an area for flying sailplanes, a heli/drone pad, a pit area, a shelter, and a porta-potti. The field gate is locked at all times when club members are not present. As a member, you will receive access and will be responsible for locking the gate when you leave if no other members are present.

See the Flying Field’s General rules, Pilot requirements and Comercial use sections for complete rules on using the field.

Our activities include a monthly meeting held at 6:30 pm on the second Wednesday of the month:

June through August at the flying field.

September through May using ZOOM sessions.

Guests are always welcome to join us at any meeting.

June, July and August just come on out to the field (directions are under the flying field/general rules heading).

All member receive a link to the monthly Zoom meetings. If you would like to join us please send an email to the Club Secretary (listed on the Contacts page).
