BAS Training Program

The Mal Meador Youth Pilot Program

In 2005 Mal Meador, a long time Boulder Aeromodelers member and model builder, passed away.

In 2007 his wife donated all of his hobby items to the Boulder club to be sold and the funds used to support a youth program.

With this base, and additional contributions from many of our other members, the Mal Meador Youth Pilot Program was started.

BAS Training Program

As time went on the program evolved into the current  BAS flight training program which has expanded  to provide instruction to both adults (19 and older) and youth ages 12 – 18.

The training program goal is to train lifelong members of the R/C aircraft community by offering a comprehensive program to help students who want to progress in the hobby. By providing club training aircraft, students can learn skills without having to make the financial commitment to purchase their own plane prior to having the opportunity to experience flying and successfully controlling an airplane.

To apply for the training program please complete the “BAS Training Program Syllabus & Training Application” below.

Prior to applying, a review of the BAS ” Membership” and  ‘General Rules‘ & ‘Pilot Requirements‘ under the Flying Field heading   should be performed.
